      Text Box: Once the quail hunting was established the Whites began work to develop a duck hunting program. “Our early attempts were not satisfactory,” admits Boyce. “Our quail hunting had gained a reputation of being very close to a wild hunt, so the less than realistic catch and release duck hunt just did not fit. I knew there must be a better way.” Through his association as a quail supplier to several private plantations Boyce learned of a waterfowl restoration project that piqued his interest. “The key to their success was the highly migratory nature of the ducks they were stocking. When the weather began to warm the ducks would migrate to their northern breeding grounds. In the fall the ducks would return to the plantation and bring more with them. What they were doing was creating a flyway to their property”. With renewed excitement the Whites went to work. Their first step was to create an ideal waterfowl habitat. Impoundments were built and plated with corn, millet, and rice. A sanctuary was established to give the ducks a safe haven for resting.  “I think our duck hunt has arrived,” says Boyce. Because of the sensitive nature of the ducks, the hunts are held on Saturdays from November through February. "This is not a very profitable venture for us. But when you are sitting in a blind on a cold morning and dawn breaks with the sights and sounds of of a sky full of ducks wanting to land in on your decoys...Well, you'll just have to experience that to understand."                                                               Text Box: The hunt begins before sunrise when we meet at the clubhouse for a light breakfast. You will then be taken to blind on one of our flooded impoundments. After the decoys are placed you will settle down into your blind for a morning of exciting and challenging duck hunting.
