Waterfowl Hunting
The
hunt begins before sunrise when we meet at the clubhouse for a light
breakfast. You will then be taken to your blind on one
of our flooded impoundments of corn, sorghum, and millet. After the
decoys are placed you will settle into your blind for a morning of
exciting and challenging duck hunting.
This is no ordinary preserve
hunt. We are participants of the N.C. Waterfowl Associations Mallard
Restoration and Research Project, a very successful approach to establishing
wintering mallard populations. The birds migrate to their northern
breeding grounds in the spring and return to our property in the
fall. They are extremely wary but respond well to decoys and calling.
We hunt on Saturday mornings during the regular waterfowl season.
